« Didn’t quite feel like bragging about it, but people keep asking me why I’m still in a god damn cast, so here goes…

I broke my scaphoid (again) in October, spent 8 weeks in a cast, and as is often the case with scaphoids, it never healed. So I got surgery done last Thursday.

If you look closely, you’ll notice that I don’t have a scaphoid anymore… problem solved I guess!

I’ll spend the next two months in a cast, and the following four months doing rehab… so no bike races until August for me.

Does it suck? Most definitely. Is that fire inside me still burning? Hell yes. Injuries are part of the sport, man. Put on your big boy pants and deal with it. Goals change, motivation remains.

I’m lucky enough to have sponsors that support me through the good and the bad times. If everything goes well, I should make it to the start line of the Whistler Enduro World Series. That’s the goal. Can’t bloody wait. »
