If you're thinking about quitting... please don't.
It's so hard but so worth it

« The picture is a pretty accurate metaphor for the way I was feeling about my cycling career only one year ago. Beaten, defeated, and seriously considering quitting.

Only because of the support of very few close friends and family did I decide to stick it out. I saw how many people close to me believed blindly in my abilities on the bike.

Over the course of the winter, I slowly started to believe too. A stroke of blind luck led me to meet @rikkioktober, who decided to take a chance on me and invite me on his team. I learned to have fun again and met some incredible people in Vegas. Then Elevate KHS Pro Cycling took a chance on me and gave me the biggest opportunities of my cycling career.

The support of everyone involved changed me as a rider and person. I'm still learning and growing as both an athlete and person, but looking back I have so many people to thank for the success I've had recently in cycling. Just like any pursuit in life I suppose, there are 100's of people behind my victories and I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all.

If you're a kid in cycling (or anywhere else) and you're thinking about quitting... please don't. It's so hard but so worth it. I've always found strength in other people's stories of struggle, so for anyone reading this who can use an ear or who wants to know more about the stories behind the picture... please don't hesitate to get in touch. You can message me at james.piccoli@hotmail.com. The tunnel is shorter than you think. Keep going homies. »
