
The Woodstock Women’s Cycling Grand Prix (WWCGP) was scheduled for May 1 - 3, 2020, and as many of you now know, to date many regional and national sporting events have been postponed or cancelled out of concern for the spread of the Coronavirus.
This is an extremely difficult time for athletes, event managers and staff, sponsors, and especially sheriff, police, fire, municipal, and state entities. The health of New York state and the WWCGP community-atlarge must clearly be considered tantamount.
Our organizing committee for the 8th annual event has spent a considerable amount of time analyzing all available Coronavirus data, as well as the CDC’s recently announced eight-week mandate which recommends that organizers that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States: Given all available information, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our event for this year.
Our focus now is to support our community’s efforts to focus upon the well-being of all residents. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused to the community, the racers, our sponsors, and our friends. We look forward to coming back next year with an even stronger event for the local community and for the magnificent sport of women’s competitive cycling.
