I had big goals of racing MTB this summer, but it hasn’t panned out like I had imagined

That feeling! Being exhausted, elated, and happy after a huge effort. Nothing feels quite like this. And although training brings you close to that, there is nothing like doing it in a race! Right now, I can’t stop dreaming about a feeling like this. But I’m not quite there yet.

I had big goals of racing MTB this summer, but it hasn’t panned out like I had imagined. While consistency in training is usually a strength for me, this summer it’s been one hurdle after the other. The last 2.5 weeks I’ve been mostly off the bike after being hit hard by Covid. I’m back riding now but I didn’t know if I’d be healthy and there was no way I would be competitive at MTB Nationals, so I decided to pull the plug on all MTB goals for the remainder of the season and focus all my efforts on getting healthy, and then on the CX Season.

I’m not too bummed out though, because there would be no point to that really, there is nothing I can do about it. Things are what they are. I’m accepting where I’m at and excited to prepare for cross.

Challenges always bring opportunities, and I’m stoked to make the most of this one

Cross is coming but first, gotta find some fitness which I’ll do training at home and at some fun gravel events! LETS GO!

Best of luck to everyone racing Nationals! I’ll be cheering.
