Been an *interesting* process being hacked, losing my Instagram account, and ultimately recovering it. Made me reflect on the importance this platform has taken in our lives. It kind of bothered me that I was so annoyed to lose it… like, why is it important to me?

Turns out one of the good things was it actually didn’t matter to miss out on some content, so maybe I can scroll less in the future... But I think what I realized is this platform has become some kind of personal portfolio, and in the job I do, working with brands, this portfolio is valuable and hard to start over from scratch.

There is also the Instagram effect that connects you with so many people — which may be the best part. I’ve realized some people I only have connection with through Instagram. And being connected with so many people is incredibly powerful... you realize it when you can’t access it. And that’s ultimately how we managed to get the account back. Through David’s and my sis’ account, so many people reach out to try to help, and eventually we found the right person. THANK YOU so much to all who helped.

Anyway, enough rambling on the space of social media in our lives. Time to go race bikes!! Heading to SBT GRVL (Steamboat Springs, CO) for my first major gravel race. I know I’m late to the gravel party, but I wanted to be sure to be in a space where I’d be excited about it before I showed up. And now we’re here! LETS GO!!! (And now I’ll be able to share about it)
